Receives a visit from Atlas South Sea Pearl
On Wednesday, October 3, 2018, LaSalle College Jakarta receives a visit from Atlas South Sea Pearl on product knowledge and allowing the Fashion Design and Fashion Business student to understand pearls better and to be able to incorporate them in part of their design. With a 20 years long history in pearling, Atlas is a global leader in sustainable-pearling and one of the top producers of the highly sought after silver and white South Sea pearl, commonly known as the ‘queen of all gems’.
The presentation from Atlas South Sea Pear gives the opportunity to LaSalle College Jakarta’s students about pearls in general, also specifically the South Sea Pearls of Indonesia and sustainable pearling. The presentation also explained the different types of pearls, the history of pearling in Indonesia and the relationship with Australian pearling.
And particularly for this trip, the South Sea Pearl also invites LaSalle College Jakarta’s student to join their jewelry design competition, with the chance to win award and prize, which includes the production and exhibition of the winning piece.
