Graphic Design. Duration: 30 Hours
To teach the basics of Graphic Design. It helps students gain an in-depth understanding of scale, texture, symmetry, tension, line, colour, tone, balance, contrast, patterning and the principles of perspective. Like busy wallpaper, images and messages surround us in our everyday lives, and each piece of visual communication demands our attention. The competition is fierce. Now, more than ever, great design matters. Your work has to stand out in the avalanche of posters, ads, flyers, direct mail pieces, books, magazines, websites, etc., or it will disappear from view. You will work on 2D design layouts using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
Computer Graphic. Duration: 30 Hours
To introduce students to the basics of design with the latest computer programs, such as Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. These 2 programs have become the standards in the design industry. This course will cover everything from the basics of scanning to more complex tasks in computer-assisted design.
Portfolio Development. Duration: 30 Hours
To put together a portfolio; the best way to display and showcase your past projects, creativity and talent. Whether you’re a designer pursuing opportunities within a company or seeking new freelance clientele, a great portfolio is essential. A design portfolio can contain any number of items in several different formats. You’ll learn how to create a solid portfolio enabling you to sell yourself as a designer.
Publication & Editorial Design. Duration: 30 Hours
To familiarize students with putting together the pieces of their layouts – no easy task. This course is designed to teach you the workflow for designing a book or catalog. The world of newspaper and magazine layouts will also be thoroughly discussed and the course will use Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
