LaSalle College Jakarta presented Creative Show "SEKALA" 2016 at Hall Senayan City Mall

LaSalle College Jakarta was successfully presented Annual Graduation Show “SEKALA” 2016, last Friday, April 15th 2016 at The Hall Senayan City Jakarta

SEKALA is a graduation celebration where 127 graduates of LaSalle College Jakarta showcase their design pieces through variety of activities; fashion show from fashion design, interior design installation, digital media design and artistic makeup collaboration exhibition, photography exhibition, and also interactive installation. Through this creative show, audiences will be able to witness and experience the holistic concept of design. Offered by Fashion Design Program, Fashion Business Program, Artistic Make Up Program, Interior Design Program, Digital Media Design Program, and Photography Program.

The event was divided into 2 sessions. The first session was a graduation ceremony that begun at the afternoon. In this session, students were officially inaugurated, then there was some awards for best students of each program. At the graduation ceremony, there were 127 students which consist of 41 students from Fashion Design, 33 students from the Fashion Business, 21 students from Artistic Make Up, 14 students from Digital Media Design, 14 students from Interior Design, and 3 students from Photography. In this special occasion, and we gave the awards to 6 best students, 6 best portfolio, and 6 favorite students from each department.

Then after the ceremony, there were Press conference session for about 1 hour before fashion show starts. At Fashion show the graduates of Fashion Design program showcased their own collections. It was started at 7 pm and opened with Bali dance by EKI Dance. This Fashion Show itself consist of nine sequences, which are The Era of Opulence, Geringsing, Paradise Bali, Paradise Resort, Japonaiserie, Onyx, Prism, Serenity and Geowhimsical Kidswear. During the fashion show, 65 young designers from LaSalle College Jakarta showcased 205 garments.

Outside the hall, there were also exhibition from various programs such as: 3 D face tracking collaboration performance between artistic make-up and Digital Media Design program, the best collections installation from Fashion Design, photography exhibition featuring 3 photographers, interior design installations which consist of hand- sketched drawings, furniture, handicrafts and mockups. Besides that, Fashion Business program also exhibited some student brands: ORU, Ab.sense, and Aashi.

The inspiration of “SEKALA” comes from the richness of ancient and traditional Bali. Blessed with beautiful nature, the island of Bali is an endless source of creative inspirations. A recent visit to the indigenous Bali Aga Tribe. Bali Aga is the roof of the Balinese culture as we know today, that embrace the power of nature and its beings. LaSalle College Jakarta decides to return to the heritage, to the traditional root. The essence of a tradition never really disappears but always reincarnate in different shapes, colors and sounds. The country with beautiful archipelago, which is well known of its uniqueness. The event was packed with approximately 1.208 crowd from the media, company, design enthusiast, blogger, high school students, and also public.
